Fair guide prices for professional tank cleaning, derusting, phosphating and sealing. Every tank is different. The final price depends on condition, size and workload.
How much does tank restoration cost?
The following prices are transparent guide prices. For tanks in normal condition, many jobs can be charged according to this table. If old coatings, heavy contamination, special tank shapes or additional manual work are involved, we will agree the extra effort with you in advance.
Cleaning and derusting
Thorough chemical cleaning and rust removal inside the tank. Suitable when no new internal tank coating is required.

Cleaning, derusting and sealing
Cleaning, derusting and high quality internal tank sealing for long lasting protection against renewed corrosion. This is our most commonly chosen complete solution.

Cleaning, derusting and phosphating
In addition to cleaning and derusting, a phosphate layer is applied. This option does not include internal tank sealing.

Shipping, surcharges and old coatings
Some tanks are straightforward. Others take significantly more time. To keep things fair, surcharges are not added blindly, but agreed with the customer in advance.
Shipping costs
Shipping is generally carried out with DHL. All parcels are insured and shipped with tracking. Shipping costs depend on parcel weight.
- Up to 5 kg: €7.69
- Up to 10 kg: €10.49
- Up to 20 kg: €18.99
- Up to 31.5 kg: €23.99 incl. VAT
Maximum parcel size: 120 × 60 × 60 cm. Insurance cover up to €500. Bulky goods or parcels exceeding standard dimensions may result in different shipping costs.
Surcharges for extra work
- Tanks installed in the frame, for example Puch Maxi: €15 surcharge due to higher workload
- Heavy extra work, for example manual scraping or work with 2K metal adhesive: €10 flat surcharge after prior agreement
These points are discussed before the work is carried out. There will be no surprise charges on your invoice.
Removal of old tank coatings
Old internal tank coatings and sealants are removed as gently as possible. As standard, this applies to the internal coating and necessary partial areas on the outside. The aim is to preserve the original exterior paint wherever possible.
Surcharge: 50 percent on the respective main price
Complete exterior paint stripping
Complete exterior paint stripping of the tank is possible on request. However, this is not useful for every job and is always agreed in advance.
Especially with classic vehicle and motorcycle tanks, we first check whether the existing exterior paint can be preserved.
How the request works
The fastest way is to send us photos of your tank in advance. Exterior photos, interior photos and a short note about the tank help us estimate the workload realistically.

Send us photos of the tank, ideally also photos of the inside through the filler opening.
Receive assessment
We will give you an honest assessment of the condition, workload and suitable procedure.
Ship the tank
Fill out the accompanying form, place it inside the parcel and send the tank well packed.
Processing
Depending on current workload, the usual processing time is approx. 4 to 6 weeks.
